Personal Diet Story

My personal diet story is one that many have followed for years and not got anywhere. The roller coaster ride of weight on / weight off is a neverending story for many of us.

My story all begins with the love of food. I grew up rolling fresh bread into balls and loving the doughy taste. Biscuits, sweet things and the different flavours of lots of foods that were good for me and not so good for me. Take away was easy.

I certainly don’t eat greasy take aways, I love noodles and Chinese foods, Italian pizzas and foods that are prepared and look really good such as fish and salad, salmon on a bed of sweet potato mash etc… but then I also love the naughty deserts that just aren’t good for someone who has an underactive thyroid.

Why my change in lifestyle is necessary:

I am overweight. I am obese – severely obese and I don’t like how I am. I am frumpy, clumbsy and my health is not good at the moment. I’ve tried 12WBT and my thyroid didn’t like me so I put on all I had lost and more.

But now I need to lose weight to regain my health back. I have to look at this in a new light and start fresh. And I am but in a different way.

I have been following Pete Evans from The Paleo Way and this way of life has certainly opened my eyes to a new way of thinking, eating and preparing foods.

Following him on Facebook allowed me to see the different recipes available and I liked what I saw. I love liver, I love brains and cooked the right way the enjoyment is still there of eating foods that are good for me and enjoying it too.

I took my first step and shopped for the first Paleo meal I will cook today. And to top that off, because I don’t have any on hand, I am making my first batch of beef bone stock. I have ordered my bones and will pick them up tomorrow and will test the recipe I have and make a few changes so that the flavours are enjoyable.
